Abdominoplasty and cosmetic surgery of the belly in Paris 16
Doctor Fabrice Poirier, doctor in reconstructive surgery in Paris 16, Paris 11 and the Paris region, is particularly specialized in reconstructive surgery of the abdomen in Paris. This abdominoplasty surgery is not intended to lose weight. In women, it occurs after a pregnancy having deformed the belly or even retaining the appearance of a pregnant woman with stretched skin while the last childbirth is far behind or after significant weight loss, especially after bariatric surgery or after a weight loss diet in the man and woman. In this context, the intervention in cosmetic surgery of the belly carried out by your cosmetic surgeon installed in Paris, is part of a global bodily rehabilitation which will later concern the breasts in women, the thighs and the arms.

Most often, muscle weakness of the abdominal wall is associated with skin distension with excess abdominal skin, most often including stretch marks. In men, it is most often the after-effects of significant weight loss, as in women as part of the after-effects of bariatric surgery or after a simple diet. This abdominoplasty surgery can be covered by social security but the criteria for agreement are very strict and are the sole responsibility of the surgeon who will send his patient to the medical adviser for acceptance or refusal of reconstructive surgery. In a certain number of cases, this cosmetic surgery of the belly can be combined with liposuction of the back, hips, thighs, knees, saddlebags buttocks in order to refine the silhouette as well as possible. Liposuction will be developed in another section. The classic technique makes it possible to remove excess sub-umbilical skin without refining the part above the umbilicus, which is often responsible for an unsightly bulge (“stomach”). In addition, the scar often extends very far to the sides with lateral “ears”. A recent technique called medioabdominoplasty with inverted T scar allows to remove the excess periumbilical skin above and below umbilical and thus to remove three times more skin than the previous one to significantly refine the silhouette by clearly marking the size and tightening the skin of the back and buttocks which tended to fall out. This technique heals most often quickly allowing an early rise without constraint of curved positioning with an exit on D 3 most often despite the importance of the gesture performed. This technique is suitable for purely cutaneous or mixed pregnancy sequelae (muscle and skin) or weight loss. It usually replaces the "Bodylift" which does not allow you to find a pretty silhouette but rather an unsightly "rectangular" body. This abdominoplasty intervention makes it possible to truly regain a feminine silhouette with a well-defined waist in women and a dynamic silhouette in men with re-tensioning of the buttocks which regain the lost curve and pubic lift which was sometimes hidden under the folds cutaneous. The re-tensioning of the external genitalia in women is also achieved by this surgery. Liposuction of the abdominal wall is associated if necessary. Wearing a compression sheath is essential for approximately 3 months after the abdominoplasty performed by your plastic surgeon in Paris 16 and Paris 11. At this term, the patient will consider himself that from now on he will be able to do without it. What precautions for the abdominoplasty? A preoperative blood test as well as the anesthetist consultation is mandatory at least 48 hours before the operation. Do not forget the sheath-type compression garments and compression socks prescribed during the preoperative consultation and go down to the operating room with them. They will be put in place at the end of the operation with the exception of the socks that you will put in your room before going down to the operating room. What is the goal of abdominoplasty or mid-abdominoplasty surgery? Tighten the muscles of the abdominal wall to obtain a stomach as flat as possible. Remove as much excess skin and stretch marks as possible, keeping the navel. Find a thin waist. Retension the buttocks and the back by postero anterior traction. Raise the pubis which was often covered by the abdominal "apron". Reshape the external genitalia by tightening them and refine the labia majora and pubis if necessary by liposuction. What is the price of this abdominoplasty surgery? Like any act requiring the removal of the skin, the result will be a scar which, like any scar, will change over time. This scar will initially be inflammatory red, then the months and years will become thin and linear. It is important to check your weight well after cosmetic surgery on the belly to prevent an increase in it from pulling on the scars or even creating new stretch marks. Additional weight loss will further improve the result. What are the consequences of abdominoplasty or medioabdominoplasty? Get up as early as possible the same day or the next day more often. Variable pain depending on the patient relieved by analgesics and decreasing with the passing days. Possible return to work after two weeks most often. A significant modification of the silhouette. A return of self-esteem from having had the courage to have an operation and the happiness of finding a pretty figure "that changes your life" What complications to fear? Apart from the complications inherent in any surgical act such as hematoma, hemorrhage, delayed healing, phlebitis or even pulmonary embolism, complications are all in all rare. More frequently lymph discharges for a few weeks or even skin disunions may appear. This is common in smokers who absolutely must stop smoking before this surgery. How long is the abdominoplasty? It takes two to three hours of intervention depending on the case. The addition of liposuction can increase the intervention by one to two hours. It is advisable not to increase the duration of the intervention by a second surgery like a gesture on the chest. Can you be pregnant after abdominoplasty surgery? It will be possible to be pregnant again after a tummy tuck, but care should be taken not to gain more than 7 to 8 kg so as not to distend the scars. It is preferable to have satisfied your desires of pregnancy before considering this cosmetic surgery of the belly. What duration of hospitalization? The length of hospitalization varies. In abdominal plasties in non-smokers after pregnancy, the duration is generally about 2 to 3 days. For abdominal plasties after weight loss by diet or bariatric surgery, it is preferable to allow 4 to 5 days on average and sometimes longer. When can we resume an intimate life after the abdominoplasty? It will generally be possible to resume an intimate life after 2 to 3 weeks after the operation. Certain positions are preferable, in particular those avoiding face to face contact. However, do not be afraid to resume this activity as soon as you feel ready so as not to disrupt this element of balance essential for couples.
